The Carter Remy Story

Carter Remy was officially formed In 2021 and following over two decades of gaining experience for all known corporate estate agents as a senior manager and Area partner Les Carter felt there was a better way to buy and sell homes, he wanted to provide a much more personal service than most agents provided whilst retaining some of the better aspects of high street agency. Initially launching the business in Basildon we quickly gained a reputation for providing an excellent customer experience whilst achieving our sellers the best prices possible for their home . In 2023 Les reunited with James Filtness a long term friend and together decided to expand the business into additional areas such as Thurrock & East London where we have seen a lot of growth with our high class marketing coupled with years of experience at the coal face which means our clients now benefit from an even greater customer experience. We have further plans to expand the business but will only do so by ensuring our high standards remain intact along the way.

Eco Friendly Sales Boards

At Carter Remy we wanted to do our part in saving the planet and that’s why we have teamed up with Kremer Signs to supply all of the signs we place outside our clients homes when they are selling. The Correx sheet which is the material used to make the board is fully recyclable and is made from recycled plastics, these signs will be recycled again and again without ever going into a landfill. As for the posts which support the boards they are made from timber that is retrieved from FSC-approved renewable forests.

Les Carter

Managing Director

I started my career in estate agency after leaving school in 1997 and have worked through the ranks starting as an office junior , moving upto a valuer , manager & area partner for one of the UK’s largest estate agency chains. In 2021 I took the decision along with my best friend Jim Remy to form Carter Remy as I wanted to offer a more bespoke service to clients which differed from the traditional conveyor belt approach that many corporate estate agents adopt, I get a lot of satisfaction from seeing our clients complete their moving journey successfully and ensure that the experience they get is always positive during a stressful period in their lives. I’m also a devoted husband to my wife Natalie & father to two amazing children and as a family we also offer foster care to many vulnerable children who need a loving and stable home.

James Filtness

Director

I have a passion for all things property and joined Carter Remy after partnering with Les and became a director in 2023 following a 23 year career managing some of the UK’s leading corporate estate agencies where I have built a reputation of providing a high class service to clients, alongside Les I am responsible for maintaining the growth of the business and love meeting our clients on a daily basis

I am also a family man and devoted father I enjoy keeping fit and spending quality time with my partner & children.

Allison Fenton

Sales Progressor/PA

I started my journey into the property industry back in 2002 after completing a 3 year secretaries diploma course and my first position was as a legal secretary in the conveyancing sector a role which gave me an excellent insight into the way property sales were handled once they had been agreed, from there on I took a role as an estate agency administrator and spent 14 years working for one of the UK’s largest independent agencies, it was here that I first met Les Carter back in 2010 and after working with him for many years was delighted to be reunited with him once again here at Carter Remy.

I have been at Carter Remy from the time it opened and since taking on this role I have really enjoyed it, every day is so different with lots of challenges to face, but I love nothing more than being able to help others on to their new ventures. To say I get job satisfaction would be an understatement! I look forward to spending the rest of my years at Carter Remy as it truly is the best role and company I have had the privilege to work for.

Outside of work I am a devoted mother to three sons and amongst my many hobbies I have a real talent for making top class cheesecakes.

I have over 7 years experience in the property industry and it is fair to say that I absolutely love what I do! I started my journey as a trainee in one of the largest corporate estate agents in the UK and worked my way up the ranks I was one of the top 2% of negotiators in the whole company for many years.

Being an estate agent was always something I wanted to pursue and I can honestly say that 7 years on I have definitely made the right career choice.

I’m a senior sales consultant at Carter Remy and providing amazing customer service to our clients is what I do best., with my experience in the industry it makes it easy for me to build great relationships and to help all our buyers and sellers to the best of my ability .

In my free time I am a loving mother to two beautiful children who give me the motivation to always be the best version of myself. We love to travel as a family and love going away on holidays and enjoying family meals.
