The Carter Remy Story

Carter Remy Estates was founded in 2021 by Les Carter with a clear vision: to make buying and selling a home a more personal, proactive and rewarding experience. Having spent more than two decades working for leading corporate estate agents as a Senior Manager and Area Partner, Les combined his experience with the best aspects of traditional estate agency to create a business built around its clients. Initially launching in Basildon, Carter Remy quickly established a reputation for exceptional customer care, high-quality marketing and a determined approach to achieving the best possible prices for sellers. Since then, we have expanded across South Essex, Thurrock and East London, bringing our personal approach and extensive local knowledge to more buyers and sellers.

Eco Friendly Sales Boards

At Carter Remy we wanted to do our part in saving the planet and that’s why we have teamed up with Kremer Signs to supply all of the signs we place outside our clients homes when they are selling. The Correx sheet which is the material used to make the board is fully recyclable and is made from recycled plastics, these signs will be recycled again and again without ever going into a landfill. As for the posts which support the boards they are made from timber that is retrieved from FSC-approved renewable forests.

I started my career in estate agency after leaving school in 1997 and have worked through the ranks starting as an office junior , moving upto a valuer , manager & area partner for one of the UK’s largest estate agency chains. In 2021 I took the decision along with my best friend Jim Remy to form Carter Remy as I wanted to offer a more bespoke service to clients which differed from the traditional conveyor belt approach that many corporate estate agents adopt, I get a lot of satisfaction from seeing our clients complete their moving journey successfully and ensure that the experience they get is always positive during a stressful period in their lives. I’m also a devoted husband to my wife Natalie & father to two amazing children and as a family we also offer foster care to many vulnerable children who need a loving and stable home.

Having been within the industry for over 30 years originally starting my career as a Mortgage Broker, then working for a large Essex corporate brand as a branch partner for 15 years in south Essex I really can make the difference to your sale with a huge amount of expertise and knowledge.
From the start of your selling or moving journey I will be with you, personally, always on the other end of the phone to help throughout the process.

I am a loving husband and father to two amazing children and enjoy family meals and walking our dogs when I’m not working.

With my sellers at the forefront, I pride myself in achieving the best price for your home utilising unrivalled negotiating skills.

Allison Fenton

Senior Sales Progressor

I began my career in property in 2002 after completing a three-year Secretarial Diploma. My first role was as a Legal Secretary in conveyancing, giving me a valuable insight into the legal side of property sales. I then moved into estate agency administration and spent 14 years with one of the UK’s largest independent estate agencies.

It was there, in 2010, that I first met Les Carter. After working together for many years, I was delighted to reunite with Les and become part of the Carter Remy team from the day the company opened.

I love my role at Carter Remy. No two days are the same, and although it can be challenging, there is nothing more rewarding than helping people move on to the next chapter of their lives. The job satisfaction I get from what I do is enormous, and I feel very fortunate to be part of such a fantastic company.

Outside of work, I’m a devoted mum to three sons. I have a passion for all things vintage and love seeking out vintage fairs and antique markets. I’m also a big Arsenal supporter and, when I’m not cheering on the Gunners, I enjoy making what I’m told are pretty top-class cheesecakes!

I have over 7 years experience in the property industry and it is fair to say that I absolutely love what I do! I started my journey as a trainee in one of the largest corporate estate agents in the UK and worked my way up the ranks I was one of the top 2% of negotiators in the whole company for many years.

Being an estate agent was always something I wanted to pursue and I can honestly say that 7 years on I have definitely made the right career choice.

I’m a senior sales consultant at Carter Remy and providing amazing customer service to our clients is what I do best., with my experience in the industry it makes it easy for me to build great relationships and to help all our buyers and sellers to the best of my ability .

In my free time I am a loving mother to two beautiful children who give me the motivation to always be the best version of myself. We love to travel as a family and love going away on holidays and enjoying family meals.

With a career in estate agency that began in 2004, I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of the UK’s largest property firms and experience a variety of roles within the industry. Over time, I discovered my true passion lies in sales progression—supporting clients through the final stages of their sale or purchase. I thrive on building strong relationships and guiding people through what can often be a stressful process, making their journey to moving home as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

I joined Carter Remy in June 2025, drawn to the company’s modern, forward-thinking approach and vibrant team culture. I love what I do and feel proud to be part of a business that shares my values and commitment to exceptional customer service.

Outside of work, I’m a dedicated mum to two amazing children and enjoy balancing family life with recreational activities and memorable holidays together.

Having managed teams for several large lettings agencies prior to joining us, Joanna is a highly qualified and well-respected professional within the industry. She prides herself on offering honest, transparent advice to landlords, delivering a truly hands-on approach to help them unlock the full value and potential of their rental properties.

Outside of work, Jo is a devoted wife and mum who loves spending quality time travelling with her young family.
