We’re delighted to share that Carter Remy has been named Gold Winner for Estate Agent in Basildon at the British Property Awards 2026–2027. It’s the second year in a row our Basildon team has taken the sales award for the town, and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved.

Awards are nice to receive, but this one means a lot to us because of how it’s decided. There’s no entry form and no fee. The judges assess estate agents on the service they actually give buyers and sellers, so winning again tells us our team is getting the things that matter right, consistently.

Back-to-Back Gold at the British Property Awards

Last year, Carter Remy was named the British Property Awards Gold winner for Basildon. Keeping that title for 2026–2027 is something we don’t take for granted. A single win can reflect a strong few months; winning two years running shows that the standard of service our clients receive is something we keep up week in, week out.

How the British Property Awards Are Judged

The British Property Awards are independently judged, and the whole process centres on customer service. Rather than relying on applications or self-nominations, the judging team mystery shops estate agents themselves, measuring each one against more than 25 criteria.

That assessment isn’t a one-off phone call. It looks at how agents respond across different channels and scenarios, over an extended period, to build a fair and balanced picture of the service a real customer would receive.

Because the awards are free to enter, cost isn’t a barrier for any agent. On average, the judges assess over 90% of the agents in each local area that meet their minimum criteria. In other words, this isn’t a win against a handful of entrants; it’s a result measured against the wider Basildon market.

What the Judges Said

Robert McLean, Director of the British Property Awards, explained the thinking behind the awards:

“Our awards have been specifically designed to be attainable to all agents, removing common barriers to entry, such as cost, to ensure that we have the most inclusive awards. Our awards have also been designed to remove any opportunity for bias or manipulation. If an agent has been attributed with one of our awards, it is simply down to the fantastic customer service levels that they have demonstrated across a prolonged period of time. Winning agents should be proud that their customer service levels provide a benchmark for their local, regional and national competition.”

Shortlisted for National Awards
